Designs
On the BES islands a design can be registered with the Benelux Office for Intellectual Property (BOIP). Design protection lasts for five years and can be extended to up to a maximum of 25 years in total.[1] Designs can also be protected under the laws on copyrights or under general tort law (and certain designs may also be protectable under the laws on patents and trademarks).
