Curaçao is a party to the following treaties and conventions with respect to intellectual property:

  1. Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property;
  2. Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works;
  3. Nice Agreement concerning the International Classification of Goods and Services for the purposes of the registration of trademarks;
  4. The World Trade Organization and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO);
  5. Strasbourg Convention on the unification of certain points of substantive law on patents for invention;
  6. Strasbourg Agreement concerning the international classification of patents;
  7. Patent Cooperation Treaty;
  8. European Patent Convention;
  9. Budapest Treaty on the international recognition of the deposit of micro-organisms for the purposes of patent procedure;
  10. Madrid Protocol concerning the international registration of trademarks;
  11. The Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of International Property Rights (TRIP’s);
  12. The Singapore Treaty on the Law of Trademarks;
  13. Hague Convention, Abolishing the Requirement of Legislation for Foreign Public Documents; and
  14. Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties.
